Here on the Airgun Source blog we can add more detail and information on airguns, shooting and hunting topics.
First post is just a quick topic.....my personal airgun hunting pack.
If you hunt with airguns in the field, chances are you have a lot of crap coming along with you.
I carry a Under Armour Realtree backpack that is lightweight, reasonably weather proof, adequate pockets and was priced well for a brand name.
- Leatherman Muli-Tool - My main knife and little tools.
- Allen wrenches - Usually have about 6 different sizes in a pocket. Somehow something always comes loose.
- Bushnell Rangefinder - I use this one for bowhunting as well. It features the ARC technology that will give +/- yardage depending on the targets elevation. Have found this to be a great feature when airgun hunting.
- Silicone Cleaning Cloth - Always a good idea to have one in case of poor weather or simply wiping your rifle down before packing up.
- Camera - Either the phone or point & shoot camera. Always have one hand to capture great moments.
- Extra Ammo - There is always a extra tin of something in the pack. Cant count the times I got to my favourite spot and no pellets in the pocket!
- Extra Magazine - Depending on the rifle but usually always have extra mags ready to go.
- Soft Lens Cloth - I hate dirty sunglasses so my cleaning cloth is always with me. These work great for your scope as well.
- Plastic Bag - Grocery bag or large ziploc bags to transport any game and not get my backpack all covered in blood
- Cushion/Seat - Used to carry a small foldable stool/chair but that was always a pain. Now I just use a soft padded hunting seat. Attaches right to the backpack, lightweight, quiet and most importantly comfortable.
- Firearms license and any required hunting permits/documents - I make multiple copies of these along with the originals and put them in a sealed ziploc bag.
These are usually items all ready to go in the bag. There is always a few extra things tossed in here or there.
