ShinSung Career 202s 9mm
Really wanted to get out and do some shooting with this rifle today but unfortunately the weather was not cooperating with wind speeds up near 80 kmh!

Browning Leverage Combo
New for 2012 is the Browning Leverage underlever air rifle. Currently available in .22 calibre, this single-shot spring action rifle has the added benefit of a fixed barrel which greatly increases accuracy and the underlever action aids in decreasing the cocking effort.
This model has been released by Umarex USA with the infamous Browning name attached and is the third product in their Browning line. The rifle is manufactured in China and is packaged with a decent 3-9x40 scope with adjustable objective and a set of weaver rings as the Weaver/Picatinny scope rail has replaced a standard 3/8" dovetail rail commonly found on airguns.
The rifle is also equipped with a nice set of fiber optic front and rear sights which is quite common on most guns these days.
Automatic safety is engaged once the rifle is fully cocked and is located just in front of the trigger.
The wood stock is ambidextrous but does have a raised right hand cheekpiece and a nicely fitted rubber recoil pad with a small Browning logo engraved on the left hand side is a nice touch.
As with most fixed barrel air rifles accuracy is improved and the same goes for the Leverage. Most inexpensive break barrel rifles packaged with a scope such as the Ruger Air Hawk, Crosman Quest, Gamo Varmint Hunter etc. tend to take a little work to get shooting right. It only took me 10 shots from the Leverage to get the scoped zeroed at 20 yards while it was still dieseling from the factory oil.
The 10 shot group below left me impressed with accuracy so far!
Velocity for the .22 calibre model is rated at 820 ft/sec with a standard lead pellet. We tested the rifle with JSB Exact 15.9gr pellets and received these results:
1- 717.9
2- 727.2
3- 722.7
4- 728.6
5- 732.3
6- 717.8
7- 715.5
8- 721.3
9- 729.4
10- 725.2
Overall the Browning Leverage seems to be a well shooting rifle that will most likely outperform other similar priced airguns. The 3-9x40 scope with adjustable objective is a nice improvement over 4x32 models with fixed objectives that are slapped on. We did find the fit & finish to be a little harsh in some areas but is typically expected on a Chinese produced airgun.

Umarex Makarov CO2 BB Pistol
The Umarex Makarov BB pistol is designed after the original Russian Makarov 9mm semi-auto centerfire pistol.
It features a full metal construction with the exception of the grips. The metal slide does move but it is not a blowback feature. Weight and size is almost identical to the original model.
The Makarov is powered by a single 12gram CO2 cylinder which is inserted in the handle when you slide the single piece grip back. A 18-shot BB magazine is released from the bottom of the pistol. Extra magazines are currently not available through the manufacturer.
The manual safety is located on the left side and is designed for right handed shooters. The pistol also operates in single and double action, although the difference in the trigger pull is not very noticeable.
Simple, not highlighted markings on both sides of the Makarov add to the realistic look it portrays and the bright shiny bluing gives it a great finish.
Velocity is rated at 380 ft/sec giving it some decent numbers when plinking. Similar to most smoothbore BB pistols, accuracy was not bad but the fixed front and rear sights do not provide any benefit. I still find firing with both eyes opened allowed for better aim when you can gauge the flight path of the BB's.
Packaging of the Marakov was a nice surprise as it was a full coloured box with lots of detail and information. Typically we see the inexpensive clampacks on most inexpensive airguns.
The Makarov is a solid looking and feeling air pistol that is a nice addition to any collection especially with the Soviet background that real 9mm has.

Umarex Walther PPQ CO2 Pistol
The Walther P99Q or PPQ as it is called is one the new pistols being released from UmarexUSA for 2011. It is a replicated design of the Walther PPQ 9mm centerfire pistol with almost identical weight and dimensions.
9mm version
4.5mm Pellet/BB version
A version of the standard P99, the new PPQ is unique in that it is able to fire both .177 cal (4.5mm) lead pellets and steel BBs. It uses the standard 8-shot rotary magazines from Umarex for pellets and a new 8-shot rotary magazine for BBs.
The pistol is a non-blowback model and features a rifled barrel that should produce decent accuracy and has been designed to accept the steel BBs. Under the barrel and in front of the trigger is a tactical Weaver/Picatinny mount for optional accessories such as laser sights. Also available is the full metal accessory rail for even more options. Full Metal Accessory Rail - Walther PPQ
It is almost entirely constructed out of a higher quality polymer plastic much like todays compact pistols and provides a solid overall feel, especially with the textured finger grooves built into the grip. Metal parts on the outside include the trigger, slide release and safety switch and internally most parts are metal.
One of nicest features on this pistol is the yellow highlighted sights. They are not a fiber optic sight just simply painted yellow dots but they look sharp and provide a quick aim when selecting your target. Rear sight is adjustable for windage.
The trigger on the PPQ is double action only which is very common nowadays but is definitely on the heavier side around 12 lbs.
The pistol is powered by a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge and can get around 80 useful shots which is certainly more than most CO2 pistols on the market.
We currently sell the Walther PPQ for $62.99 and can be purchased here.
It is a great new pistol from Umarex with some great features at a affordable price considering the build quality is the same as the German made CP99 which is double the price.
Weight: 1.37 lbs
Barrel Length: 3.9"
Overall Length: 7"

Diana 240 Classic .22 Calibre
The 240 Classic is a quality break barrel rifle under the 500fps limit and is ideal for younger shooters or anyone who wants to plink and target shoot all day.
Most air rifles under the firearm limit here in Canada that we sell are typically lower cost Chinese manufactured models. They can be great little plinkers and will usually fit anyones budget but quality and overall performance is something to consider when selecting one.
Diana's 240 Classic is a German made breakbarrel rifle available in .22 (5.5mm) calibre. A nice straight designed wood stock allows for both right and left hand shooters and weighing only 5.8 lbs and measuring 41" from tip of barrel to buttstock makes it a perfect fit for anyone.
Very easy cocking effort of the spring piston means you will run out of pellets before your arm does.
The rifle is equipped with fiber optic front and rear sights. The all metal micrometer rear sight is adjustable for both windage and elevation and is noticeably sharper than any other 'plastic' open sights on the market.
Diana is also known for their T05 trigger system which is found in almost all of their products and the 240 is no exception. This crisp trigger is far superior to any setup you will find at this price and is adjustable for the individual.
The safety is automatic and is engaged once the rifle is cocked and is located at the back of the receiver.
Fresh out of the box this rifle has a clean breech including the seal and locking detent.
11mm Dovetail rail allows for optics to be mounted.
11mm Dovetail rail allows for optics to be mounted.
You can also expect exceptional accuracy from rifled barrel as well.
One reason we recommend the larger .22 calibre to customers is its ability to effectively take game and eliminate pests. This Grackle in the above picture was a easy target at 19 yards.
The small size and hitting power from the .22 240 is perfect for introducing youth to shooting and hunting.
